Lot description

Light walnut with sycamore interiors, stainless steel hardware, and sulfurized brass details.
Inspired by the design of the famous Carlton House Desk created by George Hepplewhite for the Prince Regent, the future George IV of the United Kingdom. Its enveloping shape, with drawers arranged in a semicircle, evokes the functionality and elegance of the original model, adapted here with modern lines and contemporary materials.

This lot comes from the penthouses of Hotel Arts in Barcelona, which for 30 years were the backdrop for visits from celebrities, heads of state, and business leaders from all over the world. Some of these items were designed exclusively for these spaces and were marketed on a very limited scale.
