Lot description
Elephant ivory. Decorated with mythological figures, animals and marine elements.
With CITES documentation, a copy of which can be consulted in the auction room with an expert.
Its possible provenance could be attributed to the circle of the Duke of Enghien, Louis Antoine Henri de Bourbon-Condé (Chantilly, 1772-1804), since his heraldic coat of arms can be seen on the upper part of the jug; Chantilly Castle itself preserves an important ivory collection with similar items.
78 x 28 x 15 cm.
