Lot description

Structure and interior of drawers in pine wood and surface in Lacca Povera. Foot in carved, turned, stuccoed and polychrome wood.
After Italian models of the first half of the 18th century. The Lacca Povera technique was first developed in northern Italy, mainly in the region of Venice. The technique uses a cut-out of illuminated stamps and prints, which are glued to the surface and varnished.

The set consists of a parallelepiped-shaped body made of boards, the interior of which is divided into compartments with two drawers with brass push-button handles. The body has a hinged lid with latch. Both the body and the drawer fronts are decorated with Lacca Povera depicting a variety of scenes, including naval, genre and landscape scenes. The cabinet rests on a bridge base.

It has severe flaws on the upper part and general wear and tear.
