Lot description

Oil on board. Interior niche in carved, stuccoed, polychrome and gilded wood.
Portable altar or oratory with two doors. The outside one depicts the coat of arms of the Papal Nunciature at the centre. Inside, the right panel depicts Saint Paul and the left panel Saint Peter, each with his representative attributes, a sword and keys. A niche of Mannerist architectural influence presides over the piece and houses an image from a later period.
The paint layer has some defects and interventions. Chipping on the interior carving.
