Lot description

Round wooden table with marquetry top, legs and ornamentation in gilt bronze. The upper part of the table is decorated in Louis XVI style with festoons, garlands and intertwined silk cords. On the lower part, the style is more typical of the Napoleonic era, the Empire style, with anthropomorphic eagles and claws ornamentation. This mixture developed the taste of the last French emperor to legitimate his government with the kingdoms of the past.
The lid is worn and there are marks typical of antiquity.
