Lot description
In gilded metal with enamel and with a white and gilded band.
It consists of the Large Cross, the Venera and the band of the Large Cross.
The Royal Order of Elizabeth the Catholic is a Spanish distinction, established by King Ferdinand VII on 14 March 1815, under the name of "Real y Americana Orden de Isabel la Católica" (Royal and American Order of Elizabeth the Catholic), to "reward the loyalty and merits acquired in favour of the prosperity of those territories". This medal is still awarded. Reorganised in 1847, the decoration was renamed "Real Orden de Isabel La Católica".
The motif depicted is red-maroon and in the centre it has two globes, the two columns of Hercules and the motto Plus Ultra.
The cross is 8 x 8 cm.
